Astra transmitters
Lightweight and compact current transmitters belongs to a new line of "smart" devices manufactured by Nord-West Ltd.
Purpose
Astra transmitters are compact portable EM current transmitters which could be used in resistivity methods, induced polarization methods, frequency soundings and other.
Application
Due to a wide range of operating frequencies and currents, Astra transmitters can be used for a wide range of tasks
Hydrogeological and permafrost
Groundwater prospecting, assessment of water saturation and fluid mineralization, mapping of perennially frozen rocks, identification of taliks and cryopegs

Determination of the geological structure and rocks composition

Description

Now two types of transmitter are manufactured: Astra-20 (power 20 W) and Astra-100AT (power 100W), which replaced Astra-100 transmitter produced until 2023. Description and specifications of Astra-100 are listed there for comparison.
Astra-20
Compact transmitter for engineering and ecological prospects with maximum output power 20 W and output voltage 400 V. Nothing extra, only the most demanded functionality with minimal size and weight.
Astra-100
Astra-100 – is the transmitter with maximum output power 100 W, output voltage 400 V and current strength 1000 mA. Classic among compact EM transmitters.
Astra-100AT
A new compact transmitter, which replaced Astra-100. Astra-100AT weights almost 2 times less with smaller size, same output power and higher output voltage (700 V).

Device control

The transmitter can be controlled by any smartphone or tablet running Android 9 or later.

The Astra-20 is connected to the smartphone by Bluetooth connection.
The Astra-100AT transmitter - by Wi-Fi network.

Astra-20 and Astra-100AT transmitters are perfectly matched with new receivers MARY Smart. The receiver-transmitter pair could be controlled by one smartphone by "MARY Smart"  app
Thanks to wireless communication and a unified application, it is possible not only to increase the convenience of work, but also to reduce the number of personnel required for field work. With the new Astra transmitter and the MARY Smart receiver field works with VES method can be performed by two people.
